Carolin Margraf
Carolin Sophie Margraf discovered her interest in historical harps through her studies in musicology at the universities of Kiel and Freiburg. At the same time, she studied Scandinavian languages and literature, which led to her special interest in musicians and their role as cultural vehicles during the time of Christian IV of Denmark’s reign. Carolin has performed both in ensembles and as a soloist across Europe, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States. She holds a Master's degree in Early Music Pedagogy and historical harps. In July 2021 Carolin was a guest tutor for the Historical Harp Society of Ireland’s Scoil na gCláirseach – Festival of Early Irish Harp and returns to teach at the HHSI's Acadamh na gCláirseach this autumn. Carolin spends her remaining time furthering her language studies and sometimes windsurfing on her native waters in the Baltic Sea.
