Laoise O'Brien

Laoise O'Brien is a musician with a lifetime of performance experience. She has tutored extensively, including in her position as lecturer at the Conservatoire in Dublin and has managed multiple projects and ensembles. Laoise has been active as a recording producer since 2011. She has worked on numerous albums, video projects and radio broadcasts, working in the genres of classical, traditional, folk and jazz. Her skill-set includes project management, programming, score reading, music editing (pro tools), video editing (premier pro), studio supervision, design, and art-work management. In addition to album projects, Laoise is regularly engaged as a producer with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, producing material for both Radio 1 and RTÉ lyric fm. She has worked as music producer on multiple video recordings including for Kilkenny Arts Festival, Boyne Music Festival, Musici Ireland, Music Network, and Blackwater Valley Opera Festival. Live concerts recordings are regularly broadcast on RTÉ, BBC and throughout the EBU. In addition to music, Laoise has been involved in recordings which feature spoken word, including projects featuring actors Stephen Rea, Barry McGovern, and Nicole Rourke. Laoise has a particular interest in recording previously unrecorded material and is proud to have produced the first recordings of works by many contemporary Irish composers, and by composers whose works were never recorded or performed in their lifetimes.
