The HHSI would like to congratulate prize-winning singer, and early Irish harpist, Eibhlís Ní Ríordáín, on the publication of her debut CD – An Buachaillín Bán – featuring sean-nós songs, traditional songs in English and three traditional Irish airs on uilleann pipes by guest artist, Patricia Connery.
Significantly, this recording also features the first CD recording of a Carolan harp song – Fanny Power – sung to historically informed, self-accompaniment on early Irish harp by Eibhlís, as Carolan himself did.
EIbhlís Ní Ríordáin is well known to HHSI concert audiences, as a performer, and to HHSI players as a tutor, specialising in Irish harp songs of the 17th and 18th centuries. Ms Ní Ríordáin features in both capacities at Scoil na gCláirseach–Festival of Early Irish Harp 2021 ONLINE, 25–29 July 2021.
