Cerdd dant: Music of the medieval Welsh harpers Explore the historical harp repertoire of the Welsh bardic tradition of cerdd dant (string music) through a guided, hands-on introduction to gosteg Dafydd athro ('the prelude of master David'), the opening piece preserved in the Robert ap Huw manuscript. Dr Karen Loomis Going to the Source: A fresh look at iconic Irish-harp compositions Take a fresh historical approach to playing two iconic Irish traditional melodies, Tabhair Dom do Lámh ('Give me your hand') and Carolan's Concerto, drawn from their earliest surviving sources. Dr Tamzin Elliott, Dr Siobhán Armstrong The Year 1691: Music for a Jacobite hero Learn to sing and play two powerful and poignant historical laments for the defeat of the Jacobites in Ireland: Chum Pádraig Sáirséal ('Farewell to Patrick Sarsfield') and Briseadh na Bóinne (‘the defeat at the Boyne’).
