Historical Harp Society of Ireland
Promoting Ireland's forgotten national instrument:
the early Irish harp

The HHSI offers early Irish harp tuition, during term time, in
Dublin, Galway, Kilkenny, Armagh and Waterford.

Classes are individual and normally last for 60 minutes. Shorter or longer lessons are also possible.

The HHSI Student Harp Rental Bank—kindly sponsored by Music Network—has a limited number of early Irish harps available for HHSI students to rent, while they are taking tuition. You can read more about the instruments here.

The monthly rental fee for HHSI Student harps is €35, with a returnable deposit of €150. In order to rent one of our harps, prospective students must be Associate Members of The Historical Harp Society of Ireland. You can see information on Society membership, and how to join, here.

We also offer tuition (every venue except Armagh) in other historical harps:
- single-row, medieval and Renaissance harps, with gut strings.
- double and triple-row, 17th century baroque harps from Spain and Italy, with gut strings.
